Why 3D Cone Beam Imaging? Implant Using highly accurate imaging, 3D cone beam imaging is used to effectively determine proper implant placements. Whereas conventional 2D X-Ray could only determine 2D sense of measurements, the 3D cone beam imaging is used to determine depth, bone density, and even sensitive anatomical landmarks such as the inferior alveolar nerve. Without 3D scanning, a dental implant treatment would likely fail due to the lack of accurate calculations of implant placement location. Panoramic Just as its name suggests, a panoramic study takes into full account the entire anatomical structure of the mouth. This technique reveals more detail and oral-maxillofacial landmarks than standard X-Ray or medical imaging. Jaw disorders, root alignment, sinus, and TMJ cases could be studied thoroughly using this technique. TMJ For TMJ disorders, patients can be scanned using the 3D cone beam imaging in order to properly diagnose the condyles and joint space. The cone beam scan is utilized in both pre-treatment and post-treament stages. |
